HISTORICAL MODELS


Have a look at the model ships used for the first Ben Hur film of 1925 and refurbished for use in the 1959 Charlton Heston epic.

They are copper-hulled and 2-3 metres long ! Originally with a rowing mechanism inside they had wooden decks and sails and rigging now lost.

Strange but beautiful. Not clear who bought them or how much for.
